William D. Jones

  • A native of South Amherst, Ohio, Bill enrolled at Bowling Green State University, where he earned his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees

  • Teacher at Vermillion Public Schools (1966-69) and Findlay Public Schools (1969-70) before serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Toledo (1970-71)

  • Head Athletic Trainer at Ashland College - 1971-74

  • Head Athletic Trainer at Bowling Green State University 1974 - 2002

  • Named to the NCAA Hockey Rules Committee - 1988-89

  • GLATA representative to college/university Athletic Trainers committee - 1996-present; OATA college/university Athletic Trainers committee 1995-present

  • Over 50 student athletic trainers have become certified athletic trainers

Michael J. Willets

  • Born in Monroe, Michigan, Mike received his B.S. degree from Western Michigan University, and his M.S. from the University of Dayton

  • Athletic Trainer/Teacher at Northwestern Local Schools in Springfield, Ohio - 1976-82; and at Springfield South High School - 1982-present

  • OATA Secretary/Treasure - 1986-96; Southwest district representative - 1985-86

  • GLATA district meeting registration chairperson - 1990, 1993

  • Serves on Springfield Schools athletic council; Clark County hospital board, and is President of Tecumseh YMCA

  • NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award (1997); OATA Athletic Trainer of the Year (1989); OATA Special Consideration Award (1996); Phi Delta Kappa Inductee (1994)

       
   

Donald J. Zierolf

  • A native of Hamler, Ohio, Don attended Bowling Green State University, where he earned his B.S. and M.Ed degrees

  • Athletic Trainer/Teacher at Whitmer High School in Toledo for his entire career - 1971-present

  • OATA Northwest district representative - 1996 - present; High School committee member - 1994-96

  • Ohio State Medical Association Joint Advisory Committee on Sports Medicine - 1995 - present

  • GLATA district meeting exhibit chairperson (1990), and has attended nearly all meetings including the first in Granville, Ohio (1968)
