Walter "Bug" Koch


* A native of Lima, Ohio, received B.S. from Wittenberg College, and M.S. from Indiana University
* One of the first high school athletic trainers in Ohio
* Began career as teacher/athletic trainer for Ohio City Liberty School
* Moved to Lima city Schools, where he spent three years with Lima Central and 25 years with Lima Senior High School, after a merger of the two schools
* A charter member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association in 1950

Eddie Kwest


* After graduation from Washington Senior H.S. in South Bend, Indiana, Eddie attended Indiana University and received his B.S. from Florida State University

* Began his career as Head Athletic Trainer at Florida State University from 1951-1954
* Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Dayton for 32 years, retiring in 1986
* Inducted into the University of Dayton Athletic Hall of Fame in 1978
* In 1988, the Greater Dayton Athletic Trainers' Association initiated a scholarship in Eddie's name which it annually awards to an outstanding high school senior entering athletic training

 

 
 
   
 

James Nice


* A native of Lima, Ohio, Jim received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Bowling Green State University
* Began his career as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Northwestern University from 1956-1960
* Head Athletic Trainer at University of Maine in 1960-61
* Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Toledo for 23 years, from 1961-1984. While at the University of Toledo, Jim served as program director for their NATA approved curriculum, and served as advisor and clinician for Toledo Public Schools, and surrounding school systems
* Inducted into the University of Toledo Hall of Fame
* Since 1984, Jim has served the University of Toledo as Professor Emeritus
