James William “Jim” Moore III

  • A graduate of Perry High School in Massillon, Ohio (1971)
  • Jim earned his B.S. from Kent State University in 1976.
  • Graduate assistant in Athletic Training at Kent State 1976-77
  • Began his career as Teacher/Athletic Trainer at Fairmont East High School – 1977-83; continued teaching for Kettering City Schools and served as Athletic Trainer at the combined Fairmont High School –1985-88
  • Staff Athletic Trainer at St. Elizabeth/Franciscan Sports Medicine Center – 1988-2000
  • Staff Athletic Trainer at Kettering Sports Medicine Center – 2000-Present
  • Founding member of the Greater Dayton Athletic Trainers Association, later serving as its President
  • Founding member of the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association
  • Chair of first OATA Long and Short Term Goals Committee
  • SW District Representative – 1984-88
  • Photographer for OATA Annual Meetings
  • OATA Special Recognition Award for Photography -- 1999
  • Jim began as Adapted Physical Education Teacher in 1981, and continues in this position;
  • Special Olympics Coach for Kettering City Schools --1981-94;
  • Ohio Special Olympics Coach of the Year –1989
  • Jim resides in Kettering with his wife, Paula
